Bohin Quilting Notions and Supplies

BOHIN Tools for Sewing and Needlework

BOHIN is a French sewing-notions company known for its needle-making heritage. Its tools support many kinds of handwork, including quilting, appliqué, embroidery, and counted cross stitch. Our selection brings together needles for different techniques alongside practical accessories for threading, marking, measuring, and keeping your needle within reach.

Choose supplies according to the project you are making rather than treating every needle or tool as interchangeable.

Choose BOHIN Needles for Your Technique

A needle’s point, length, thickness, and eye shape affect how it works with your materials. BOHIN offers several needle types to suit different stitching methods.

Between needles, also called betweens, are short needles commonly used for hand quilting. Appliqué needles and milliners needles provide options for fine hand sewing, basting, and working around fabric shapes. Crewel embroidery needles have sharp points for stitching through fabric, while chenille needles combine a sharp point with a larger eye for suitable embroidery threads.

Tapestry needles have blunt points that pass through the existing openings in fabrics such as Aida and evenweave, making them a common choice for counted cross stitch. Select the size recommended for your fabric count and thread.

Needle Threaders for Hand and Machine Sewing

Threading is easier when the tool matches the needle you are using. The BOHIN Desktop Super Needle Threader and BOHIN Machine Needle Threader serve different purposes, so check each product’s compatibility instructions before choosing.

For hand sewing, consider both the needle’s eye and the thickness of your thread. A threader should work without being forced through the eye. A larger-eye needle may also be helpful when the technique and fabric allow it.

Marking Pencils for Fabric Preparation

A fabric marking pencil helps establish placement lines, stitching guides, and other temporary references. A white marking pencil can provide useful contrast on darker fabrics.

Test the marking product on a scrap of your project fabric before drawing on your work. Follow its removal instructions and confirm that the mark comes out as expected before applying heat or finishing the project.

Needle Minders and Measuring Accessories

A magnetic needle minder gives you a place to rest your needle between stitches. BOHIN’s decorative options add personality to your stitching setup while helping you keep track of a small but essential tool.

Tape measures are useful for checking project dimensions and measuring around flexible or curved surfaces. Choose accessories that fit the way you work, whether you sew at home or take a small project along when traveling.
