Two-strand embroidery floss is a favorite choice among cross stitchers and embroidery enthusiasts for its perfect balance of coverage and fine detail, making it ideal for stitching on popular fabric counts like 14, 16, and 18 count Aida and evenweave. Created by separating standard six-strand cotton embroidery floss into two strands, this versatile approach gives you smooth, even stitches with a clean, professional finish that isn’t too bulky or too sparse.
Available in an incredible spectrum of solid colors, hand-dyed variegated floss, and subtle tonal shades from beloved brands like Weeks Dye Works and more, two-strand embroidery floss offers excellent colorfastness, durability, and a soft, lustrous sheen. Whether you’re working on cross stitch patterns, heirloom samplers, modern embroidery, or detailed needlework designs, stitching with two strands delivers beautiful, consistent results every time.
